People are the technology that makes our new millennium alive. In today’s day and age, most of the Western world has the luxury of a streamlined life from home. The technological advancements we’ve made as a species presents boundless privileges that leave us limitless when it comes down to our capabilities.
From the way we take care of our businesses to the way we take care of our bodies, the new millennium has changed the way we humanize. The world, along with the people who collectively contributed to its greatness, are ever debating the consequences of its progress.
TEDxIDCHerzliya New Millennium gives the opportunity to ponder questions, ideas and contributions of our new millennium on stage through the eyes of the incredible individuals who are a part of creating this new reality.
TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages.
TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience with one initiative: Ideas Worth Spreading. Starting as a four-day conference in Long Beach, California in 1984, TED conferences invite the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes across interdisciplinary fields to enlighten and educate. At our TEDxIDCHerzliya event, our speakers will challenge, deepen, and spark conversations about trending topics across fields like wellness, leadership and business, positive psychology, government and new world order, technological advancements -- and all that falls in-between. There were no private educational institutions of significance in Israel until 1994, when IDC Herzliya was founded. Modeled on Ivy League universities in the United States, IDC Herzliya is a non-profit corporate entity which is not subsidized by the government and is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in education and research. Its founders aimed to create an Israeli university for the third millennium – a university where personal achievement goes hand in hand with social responsibility.
