If you were a time traveler that got stuck in the year 2000 and stayed until the year 2020 you would obviously be faced with an immense amount of change. In the past 20 years, the global playing field has completely changed while being driven almost entirely by humans. These changes have altered history at a rapid pace. Humans have developed, altered, and formulated the new world order in fields including: Medicine, Technology, Innovation and Education.
How Does This Relate to TEDx Speakers?
TEDxIDCHerzliya - New Millennium, gives the opportunity to show these ideas and contributions on stage for the world to see through the eyes of the incredible individuals who are a part of creating this new reality and share their ideas, accomplishments and scepticism with us all.
What are we looking for in a Speaker?
We are looking for new ideas that are widely relatable
We are looking for ideas that need to be defended – not something self-evident, but an interesting argument, perhaps with an antagonist.
We are looking for an idea the TED world hasn't heard before. (In other words, not a copy of a TED Talk you like!)
We are looking for ideas that change perceptions. (e.g., a scientific discovery that changes how you think about frogs, a philosophical argument that reshapes your notions of friendship).
What are our expectations of potential candidates?
Speakers are required to write an outline and/or script and slides
Speakers are required to be contactable before the event and work closely with our curation/speaker team to prepare you for our stage.
Speakers will go through an intensive training program with our professional coaches.
Speakers will rehearse their talk for weeks or months in advance, and will attend at several rehearsals, including dress rehearsal.
Our Team:
The Curation/Speaker team works closely with the potential speakers in order to help them feel supported and empowered while preparing them to give the TEDx Talk of their lives! The Team will work with the speakers from application stage, through training and preparation, the event itself and post event.
Innovation and Entrepreneurship
This topic includes the sharing of advancements in the world of entrepreneurship and innovation. Focusing on how and in what ways people in the new millennium have faced and overcome difficulties in the world of business.
Technology
The definition of technology has expanded into almost every form of modern life, even people have become a type of technology when factoring information and internet/connection capabilities.
Knowledge and Culture
Challenges from the use of technology to teach children (television in kindergarten) to how young professionals undergo training in their respected job marketplaces. This subject also can deal with how ideas spread over networks and social media sharing.
Science
The new millennium and our understanding of modern science brings to light fundamental changes in our approach to the problems and consequences of human influence on our planet and environment.
Wellness
The way we view trauma, the impact of experiences on the human mind, emotional distress is an issue more at hand today than ever in our past.
The New World Order
In our generation's influence in the world of diplomacy the world shifts from classic(governmental) diplomacy into public diplomacy, more emphasis has been put on the effects of civil societies to connect and build relationships with other people.
